Perfect for a family Thanksgiving holiday!
Fully sanitized for COVID-19, our beautiful Eastlake Victorian is in the heart of the city, with garage parking, plus it's only a few blocks' walk to everything—two blocks to Alamo Square Park with the famous “postcard row” Painted Ladies houses and a 360-degree view of the city, four blocks to fashionable Hayes Valley cafes, eight blocks to walk around (but not go in these days) the lovely architecture of the ballet, symphony, SFJazz (a world-class jazz center), and our beautiful City Hall.
This neighborhood is perfect if you want to be close to the best restaurants and shopping in town with lots of outdoor dining options within walking distance as of late July 2020. It is rated a "Walker's Paradise" with a Walk Score of 95, public transportation score of 99, and bike rider's score of 88.
Also cozy to just shelter in place, our home has a huge, double-sized living room with a piano, hardwood floors, 12' ceilings with plaster moldings, and formal dining table. The house has oversized, original Victorian doors, antique chandeliers, exposed brick, and antique furniture throughout, including a working crank Victrola, 1940s radio, and a vinyl record player.
Golden Gate Park and most of the major museums are only a 10 minutes drive. The magical Presidio, two gorgeous beaches, and the Golden Gate Bridge, are all just 15 minutes away.
We have pretty new (2018) organic mattresses, plus most bedding and our towels are from Coyuchi, a luxury organic cotton brand.
The master bedroom has a California King bed, exposed brick, an antique triple armoire, and private bath. The second bedroom has a double French antique bed, antique armoire, desk, loveseat, and chandelier. The third bedroom has an antique French twin bed, and a loft "bunk" bed. There is a second, shared bathroom that is all marble and historic wallpaper (long story, but you can either see it here or in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York).
Since we have young children, we have tons of children's toys, stuffed animals, and books. Plus, we can tell you all the best activities and resources for children while you’re in town.
We can also provide recommendations on the best restaurants, natural beauty, historic architecture, and unique activities in the city...and beyond (like the Wine Country to the north and Monterey/Carmel to the south).
In your initial inquiry, please tell us about everyone in your party and the reason for your visit. We love to meet new people and have hosted wonderful people from all over the world. We look forward to hosting you!
[Our home is usually only available on school holidays, because we live here, so please check the calendar before you send a booking request. We are also open to long-term rentals, so feel free to ask. We would love to have you in December, as we decorate for a Victorian family Christmas with a gorgeous 11' tree covered with blown glass ornaments and everything else you might need for the holidays.
If you have a large family that needs more space than we have, our next-door neighbor also rents her beautiful one-bedroom condo affordably, so I can check with her to see if, combined, we can accommodate all of you.
The City of San Francisco requires that all short-term rental listings display their registration number, and ours is #STR-0000461. Thanks.]
